The Meditation Teacher

Venerable U Revata

On November 10th 1999, Ven. U Revata was ordained as a Theravada bhikkhu at the Pa Auk Tawya Forest Monastery. His preceptor was the Most Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw, U Acinna.

He practiced meditation under the guidance of the Most Venerable Pa Auk Sayadaw, Sayadaw U Cittara and Venerable U Sila. He also studied Pali literature and commentaries. He speaks Burmese, English and Thai.

He has been teaching meditation at the Pa Auk Forest Monastery to local and foreign meditators, both monastics and laity since the year 2002.

He has conducted meditation retreats in several countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia and Latvia. In March 2012, he has conducted a meditation retreat at Nandaka Vihara with positive results from the participating meditators.

He is now the incumbent meditation teacher for Nandaka Vihara and we look forward to him conducting two retreats per year at Nandaka.
